Target Information
TPM4 (tropomyosin 4)는 actin-binding protein으로, 횡문근 및 평활근의 수축 시스템과 비근육 세포의 세포골격에 관여하는 tropomyosin 계열 단백질의 일원입니다.
TPM4는 troponin complex와 함께 칼슘 의존적 근육 수축 조절에 핵심적인 역할을 합니다. Tropomyosin은 coiled-coil 단백질의 이합체로서 actin 필라멘트의 주요 홈을 따라 end-to-end로 중합되어 필라멘트 안정성을 부여하고, 다른 actin-binding 단백질의 접근을 조절합니다.
근육 세포에서는 myosin head가 actin 필라멘트에 결합하는 것을 조절함으로써 근육 수축을 조절합니다. 여러 전사 변이체가 존재하여 다양한 isoform을 암호화합니다.
