ZHX3 유전자는 zinc fingers and homeoboxes (ZHX) 유전자 패밀리에 속하며, 두 개의 C2H2-type zinc finger와 다섯 개의 homeodomain을 포함합니다. 이 단백질은 자기 자신 또는 ZHX1 단백질과 이합체를 형성하며, 핵 내에서 전사인자 nuclear factor-Y의 A 소단위와 상호작용하여 전사 억제 인자로 작용할 수 있습니다.
