In direct ELISAs and Western blots, approximately 25% cross-reactivity with recombinant human KLKB1 is observed and less than 1% cross-reactivity with recombinant human KLK1, 3, 5, 7, 13, and 14 is observed.
Reconstitute at 0.2 mg/mL in sterile PBS.

Target Information

Plasma prekallikrein is a glycoprotein that participates in the surface-dependent activation of blood coagulation, fibrinolysis, kinin generation, and inflammation. It is synthesized in the liver and secreted into the blood as a single polypeptide chain. Plasma prekallikrein is converted to plasma kallikrein by factor XIIa through cleavage of an internal Arg-Ile bond.
Plasma kallikrein is composed of a heavy chain and a light chain held together by a disulphide bond. The heavy chain contains four tandem repeats of 90–91 amino acids, each forming an apple domain, essential for surface-dependent pro-coagulant activity. The light chain contains the catalytic domain homologous to the trypsin family of serine proteases.
Deficiency of plasma prekallikrein causes prolonged activated partial thromboplastin time in patients.
