Product Specific Information
For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (e.g., Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
This gene encodes a 134 kDa protein named Strumpellin, predicted to have multiple transmembrane domains and a spectrin-repeat-containing domain. It is ubiquitously expressed, with highest levels in skeletal muscle. Strumpellin is associated with Strumpell disease, a form of hereditary spastic paraplegia (HSP). These disorders involve progressive lower extremity spasticity due to axonal degeneration in long corticospinal tracts. Over 30 loci (SPG1–33) have been implicated in hereditary spastic paraplegia.
