Target Information
Nuclear factor kB p65 (NF-kB p65), encoded by the RELA gene on chromosome 11 in humans, is also known as RelA. It is a member of the Rel protein family and forms heterodimers with p50 or p52 subunits to constitute NF-kB (Nuclear factor kappa-light-chain-enhancer of activated B cells). Upon TNFα receptor binding, IKK is phosphorylated, which subsequently phosphorylates IκB, leading to its proteasomal degradation. NF-kB p65 plays a critical role in transcription regulation of the immunoglobulin κ gene in mature B-lymphoid cells.
