Target Information
IKK beta (Inhibitor of nuclear factor kappa-B kinase subunit beta) is a serine kinase essential for NF-κB signaling activation. It phosphorylates I-kappa-B proteins, marking them for degradation via the ubiquitination pathway, which allows NF-κB complex activation. This process regulates immune response, cell growth, and apoptosis protection. Mutations in the IKK beta gene are associated with Immunodeficiency 15 (IMD15).
