Product Specific Information
Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration. For extended storage, aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature. This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.
Alkaline phosphatase antibody is an IgG fraction purified from monospecific antiserum by a multi-step process including delipidation, salt fractionation, and ion exchange chromatography followed by extensive dialysis against the specified buffer. Immunoelectrophoresis shows a single precipitin arc against anti-Peroxidase, anti-Rabbit Serum, and purified or partially purified Alkaline Phosphatase [E.coli]. No cross-reactivity occurs against mammalian forms of Alkaline Phosphatase.
Target Information
Alkaline phosphatase is a homodimeric enzyme (86 kDa) containing two zinc atoms per monomer essential for catalytic activity. It is active at alkaline pH and found in both prokaryotes and eukaryotes. The enzyme contributes to liver metabolism and skeletal development in higher organisms and acts as a source of inorganic phosphate in bacteria. In yeast, it serves as a model for studying membrane protein sorting.
