The immunogen is human Factor VII (AA-3) purified from plasma.
Target Information
Coagulation factor VII is a vitamin K-dependent factor essential for hemostasis. It circulates in the blood in a zymogen form and is converted to an active form by minor proteolysis through factor IXa, factor Xa, factor XIIa, or thrombin.
Activated factor VII consists of a heavy chain with a catalytic domain and a light chain with two EGF-like domains, connected by a disulfide bond.
In the presence of factor III and calcium ions, activated factor VII initiates the coagulation cascade by converting factor IX to IXa and/or factor X to Xa.
Defects in F7 production can cause coagulopathy.
