Target Information
The VAV3 gene belongs to the VAV family and encodes guanine nucleotide exchange factors (GEFs) for Rho family GTPases. These proteins activate pathways involved in actin cytoskeletal rearrangements and transcriptional regulation. VAV3 acts as a GEF mainly for RhoG and RhoA, and less for RAC1, interacting preferentially with nucleotide-free states of these GTPases. Alternative splicing produces different isoforms.
