- Mature horse IL-5 shares 71%, 89%, 88%, 83%, 66%, and 63% amino acid sequence identity with mature human, bovine, feline, canine, mouse, and rat IL-5, respectively.
- Reconstitute at 0.2 mg/mL in sterile PBS.
- Endotoxin level is <0.10 EU per 1 µg of the antibody by the LAL method.
Target Information
IL-5 is a cytokine that acts as a growth and differentiation factor for both B cells and eosinophils. It is a key regulator of eosinopoiesis, eosinophil maturation, and activation. Elevated IL-5 production is associated with asthma and hypereosinophilic syndromes.
The IL-5 receptor is a heterodimer whose beta subunit is shared with IL3 and CSF2/GM-CSF receptors. IL-5, IL4, IL13, and CSF2 form a cytokine gene cluster on chromosome 5q31 and are coordinately regulated by long-range regulatory elements over 120 kilobases.
