This antibody detects endogenous levels of total Lass4 protein.
Target Information
The LASS (longevity assurance homolog) family members are highly conserved from yeast to mammals. Six members (LASS1–LASS6) have been characterized, all involved in sphingolipid synthesis. LASS4 is a 394-amino-acid, endoplasmic reticulum multi-pass membrane protein that increases levels of long ceramides such as C22:0 and C24:0. In CLN9-deficient cells, as observed in neuronal ceroid lipofuscinosis (NCL, Batten disease), LASS4 can elevate ceramide levels and partially correct growth and apoptosis defects.
