Target Information
Mitogen-activated protein (MAP) kinases are key components of cellular signaling pathways activated by various stimuli, mediating physiological and pathological cellular responses. Dual specificity phosphatases (DSPs) are a subclass of the protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) family that selectively dephosphorylate phosphothreonine and phosphotyrosine residues within MAP kinases. DSP gene expression is induced by growth factors or cellular stress, serving as negative regulators of MAPK/ERK, SAPK/JNK, and p38 pathways. DUSP22 dephosphorylates ERK2 and JNK, and is most highly expressed in thymus, with detectable levels in monocytes and lymphocytes.
