The N protein is an RNA-binding protein essential for viral genome packaging, containing three dynamic disordered regions with transiently-helical binding motifs. The two folded domains interact minimally, making the full-length N protein flexible and multivalent. SARS-CoV-2 causes illnesses ranging from the common cold to severe diseases.
