Product Specific Information

Recombinant human IL-2 is a non-glycosylated protein containing 134 amino acids. It has a Serine substitution for Cysteine at position 126.
Reconstitute using sterile 10 mM HCl at 0.1 mg/mL and centrifuge prior to opening vial. Gently pipet solution down the sides of the vial. Do not vortex.
Store reconstituted material at -20°C and add 0.1% BSA for additional stability.

Target Information

Interleukin 2 (IL-2) is an immunomodulatory cytokine essential for the proliferation of activated T cells and differentiation of B cells, NK cells, monocytes, and macrophages.
IL-2 signals through the IL-2 receptor (IL-2R), a heterotrimeric complex whose gamma chain is shared with IL-4 and IL-7.
Expression of the IL-2 gene in mature thymocytes is monoallelic, representing a unique regulatory mode for gene expression.
Disruption of IL-2-like genes in mice leads to ulcerative colitis-like disease, highlighting its key role in immune response regulation.
