Target Information

TNFRSF14 is a member of the TNF-receptor superfamily and functions as a cellular mediator of herpes simplex virus (HSV) entry. Binding of HSV glycoprotein D (gD) to TNFRSF14 facilitates viral entry. The cytoplasmic region of TNFRSF14 interacts with TRAF family members to mediate immune signaling pathways. Activation in T cells promotes proliferation and cytokine production, contributing to inflammation and enhanced CTL-mediated tumor immunity. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants exist, though some full-length forms remain undetermined.
