For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (recommended: Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

Amyloid Precursor Protein (APP) functions as a cell surface kinesin I membrane receptor mediating axonal transport of beta-secretase and presenilin 1.
APP is crucial for neurite growth, neuronal adhesion, and axonogenesis. It is a 100–140 kDa transmembrane glycoprotein with multiple isoforms generated by alternative splicing.

Proteolytic cleavage of APP by beta- and gamma-secretases produces beta amyloid, the main component of senile plaques—a key hallmark of Alzheimer’s disease.
Abnormal APP regulation is also implicated in Down’s syndrome, early onset familial Alzheimer’s disease, and cerebral hemorrhage.
