Product Specific Information

The PC61.5 antibody reacts with mouse CD25, the 55 kDa interleukin-2 receptor alpha chain (IL-2Rα).
CD25 is expressed by early progenitors of T and B lineage and activated mature T and B lymphocytes.
By itself, CD25 binds IL-2 with low affinity, but forms a high-affinity receptor when associated with CD122 (IL-2Rβ) and CD132 (common γ chain).
Binding of IL-2 to both high and low affinity classes is inhibited by PC61.5 antibody.
CD25 plays a role in lymphocyte differentiation, activation, and proliferation.

CD25 (IL2RA) encodes the interleukin-2 receptor alpha chain, a cytokine receptor involved in proliferation of T and B lymphocytes.
The IL2 receptor complex (IL2RA, IL2RB, IL2RG) forms a high-affinity receptor.
IL2 expression in mature thymocytes is monoallelic, representing precise gene regulation.
IL2 acts as a growth and differentiation factor, and regulates cell death.
Disruption of IL2RA in mice leads to ulcerative colitis-like disease, indicating its role in immune response regulation.
Mutations are associated with interleukin-2 receptor alpha deficiency.
