Target Information
TCP-1 beta (CCT2) is a molecular chaperone that is part of the chaperonin-containing TCP1 complex (CCT), also known as the TRiC complex.
The CCT complex consists of two stacked rings, each containing eight different subunits.
It assists in the ATP-dependent folding of various proteins, including actin and tubulin.
Alternative splice variants of the TCP-1 beta gene have been observed but not fully characterized.
Dysfunction of TCP-1 beta has been associated with epididymo-orchitis.
