Product Specific Information
- Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature.
- Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 min at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
RBP4 protein belongs to the lipocalin family and functions as the specific carrier for retinol in the blood. It transports retinol from liver stores to peripheral tissues. In plasma, the RBP-retinol complex interacts with transthyretin to prevent filtration loss through kidney glomeruli. Vitamin A deficiency blocks secretion of the binding protein post-translationally, leading to defective delivery to epidermal cells.
