Target Information
Cell cycle regulated protein ubiquitination and degradation within subcellular domains is essential for normal progression of mitosis.
APC10 is a conserved component of the anaphase promoting complex/cyclosome (APC/C), an E3 ubiquitin ligase that controls progression through mitosis and G1 phase.
APC/C degrades anaphase inhibitors, mitotic cyclins, and spindle-associated proteins to ensure proper mitotic sequence.
APC10 may regulate substrate binding to the APC/C complex, similar to coactivators.
