Target Information
TAK1 (also known as MAP3K7) is a serine/threonine kinase involved in multiple signaling pathways. Initially identified as a TGF-β-activated kinase, it interacts with TGF-β receptor and TRAF6 to regulate activation of JNK and p38. TAK1 also participates in Wnt, BMP, activin, and other stress-related signaling pathways. It contributes to wound healing through regulation of PDGF-B and integrins, plays a critical role in IKK activation in IL-1, IL-6, TNF, and TLR pathways, and influences cell lifespan by repressing telomerase reverse transcriptase.
