Target Information
TIP60 is a transcription factor originally isolated as an HIV-1 TAT-interactive protein, known to interact with the viral TAT protein leading to HTATIP polyubiquitination and degradation. It belongs to the MYST family of histone acetyltransferases (HATs) and serves as the catalytic subunit of the NuA4 histone acetyltransferase complex, which activates transcription by acetylating nucleosomal histone H4 and H2A. As a co-regulator of transcription factors, TIP60 can promote or suppress tumorigenesis. It plays roles in DNA repair, apoptosis, and signal transduction.
