Target Information
Voltage-gated potassium (Kv) channels are a complex class of voltage-gated ion channels with diverse functions, including regulation of neurotransmitter release, heart rate, insulin secretion, neuronal excitability, epithelial electrolyte transport, smooth muscle contraction, and cell volume.
The KCNH7 gene encodes a pore-forming (alpha) subunit of the potassium channel, voltage-gated, subfamily H. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified.
