Product Specific Information

The eBio7D4 antibody reacts with mouse CD25, the 55 kDa interleukin-2 receptor alpha chain (IL-2Rα).
CD25 is expressed by early progenitors of T and B cells, and by activated mature lymphocytes.
It binds IL-2 with low affinity alone, but forms a high-affinity receptor complex with CD122 (IL-2Rβ) and CD132 (common γ chain).

• Plays a key role in lymphocyte differentiation and activation/proliferation.
• Recognized epitopes differ among eBio3C7, PC61.5, and eBio7D4.
• eBio7D4 can block IL-2 binding, which may be overcome by additional IL-2.
• For in vivo studies, PC61.5 (Product #16-0251) is recommended.

Applications Tested

Validated by flow cytometric analysis of mouse splenocytes.

Target Information

CD25 (IL2RA) encodes the alpha chain of the interleukin-2 receptor, a cytokine receptor involved in T and B lymphocyte proliferation.
The high-affinity IL-2 receptor consists of IL2RA, IL2RB, and IL2RG subunits.
Homodimeric IL2RA or IL2RB chains form low- and medium-affinity receptors, respectively.
IL2RA expression is monoallelic in mature thymocytes, providing precise gene regulation.
IL-2 acts as a growth and differentiation factor, stimulating B cell proliferation, NK cell activity, and modulating immune responses.
Mutations in IL2RA are associated with interleukin-2 receptor alpha deficiency and immune dysregulation.
