Target Information
TFIP11 is involved in pre-mRNA splicing and spliceosome disassembly during late-stage splicing events. Intron turnover occurs through two complexes: Intron Large (IL) and Intron Small (IS). In cooperation with DHX15, TFIP11 mediates the transition from the U2, U5, and U6 snRNP-containing IL complex to the snRNP-free IS complex, enabling efficient intron debranching and turnover. It may also play a role in ameloblast and odontoblast differentiation or enamel extracellular matrix formation.
