Product Specific Information

This antibody reacts with the epsilon chain of the CD3 complex.

Target Information

The CD3 subunit complex is crucial for transducing antigen-recognition signals into T cells and regulating the surface expression of the TCR complex. CD3 activation involves the cytoplasmic tails of subunits (γ, δ, ε, ζ), which contain tyrosine-based motifs mediating signal transduction. CD3 is expressed on most peripheral blood lymphocytes and thymocytes, but not on B or NK cells. It is associated with T cell activation, growth regulation, and immune signaling. Genes encoding CD3 ε, γ, and δ are located on chromosome 11. Defects in CD3 are linked to immunodeficiency.
