EPHA6는 ephrin receptor 아형에 속하는 단백질 티로신 키나아제로, 신경계에서 축삭 유도, 뉴런-표적 상호작용, 영역 분화 및 시냅스 기능에 관여합니다. EPHA6는 뇌와 고환에서 높은 발현을 보이며, 외부 생식기 성장 및 폐쇄에 영향을 주는 Hypospadias에서 감소가 관찰됩니다. 또한 EPHA6의 유전적 억제는 학습 및 기억 관련 행동 결핍을 유발하며, EPHA6 결핍 마우스는 학습 맥락에 대한 기억력이 저하됩니다.
