Target Information

U2AF1L4 is an RNA-binding protein functioning as a pre-mRNA splicing factor. It plays a crucial role in both constitutive and enhancer-dependent splicing by mediating protein-protein and protein-RNA interactions essential for accurate 3'-splice site selection.
It enhances U2AF2 binding to weak pyrimidine tracts and regulates alternative pre-mRNA splicing.
During T-cell activation, it activates exon 5 skipping of PTPRC, which is reversed by GFI1.
U2AF1L4 binds RNA at the AG dinucleotide at the 3'-splice site, showing preference for AGC or AGA sequences.
