Target Information
C5AR2 is an orphan member of the anaphylatoxin receptor family. It is a seven-transmembrane G-protein-coupled receptor with an N-terminal N-glycosylation site, several conserved cysteines, and multiple potential C-terminal phosphorylation sites.
C5AR2 binds to C5a and C5a-des-Arg and acts as a highly regulated scavenger receptor, negatively modulating C5aR-mediated inflammation.
Northern blot analysis indicates co-expression with C5aR in various tissues and cells, including neutrophils/macrophages, mast cells, dendritic cells, brain, lung, heart, kidney, liver, ovary, and testis.
