Target Information

Insulin is a secreted peptide hormone that promotes glucose uptake and glycogen synthesis, reducing blood glucose levels. It is synthesized as preproinsulin, processed to proinsulin, and then to mature insulin.
Insulin-like peptides (INSL proteins), also known as Relaxin-like factors, belong to the insulin family and regulate cell growth, metabolism, and tissue-specific functions. INSL1–7 are primarily secreted proteins expressed in testis, placenta, uterus, or prenatal tissues.
INSL4 is a 139 amino acid secreted protein expressed in the placenta, uterus, and fetal perichondrium, potentially involved in bone formation regulation and trophoblast development.
