Target Information
Kaptin (KPTN), also known as Actin-associated protein 2E4, was originally isolated from human blood platelets and is likely involved in actin rearrangements during activation. It plays a unique role in actin rearrangements accompanying platelet activation and stereocilia formation. Kaptin is necessary for normal neuromorphogenesis and may contribute to the formation of sensory apparatus in hair cells.
