Antibody detects endogenous levels of total PIM2.
Target Information
PIM2 is a proto-oncogene that phosphorylates BAD, partially inhibiting its apoptotic function. PIM proteins (PIM-1, PIM-2, and PIM-3) are oncogene-encoded serine/threonine kinases. PIM-2 shares high homology with PIM-1 and exhibits similar oncogenic properties. It is abundantly expressed in hematopoietic tissues such as spleen, thymus, and peripheral blood leukocytes, as well as in testis, small intestine, and colon. PIM2 expression decreases upon growth factor depletion, and elevated levels have been observed in certain cancers.
