Product Specific Information

  • In direct ELISAs and Western blots, less than 1% cross-reactivity with recombinant human uPAR is observed.
  • Reconstitute at 0.2 mg/mL in sterile PBS.
  • Endotoxin level is <0.10 EU per 1 µg of antibody by the LAL method.

Target Information

The urokinase-type plasminogen activator receptor (uPAR) is a key molecule regulating cell-surface plasminogen activation and is involved in both normal and pathological processes.
The human PLAUR cDNA encodes 335 amino acids, including a predicted signal peptide of 22 residues and a hydrophobic C-terminal region. It produces a highly glycosylated ~50 kDa protein in monocytes, anchored to the plasma membrane via a glycosyl-phosphatidylinositol linkage.

PLAUR (uPAR) interacts with the carbohydrate-binding domain of SELL in neutrophil membranes, similar to its association with β2 integrins. PLAUR-mediated calcium mobilization is SELL-dependent.
uPAR mRNA levels correlate with the invasive potential of endometrial carcinomas and show a significant increase in advanced stages compared with normal tissue. Elevated uPAR expression is associated with recurrence and mortality, making it a potential prognostic marker for advanced endometrial cancer.
