Target Information

RIPK3 is a member of the receptor-interacting protein (RIP) family of serine/threonine protein kinases. It contains a unique C-terminal domain distinct from other RIP family members and is primarily localized in the cytoplasm, particularly in the mitochondria. RIPK3 participates in the TNF receptor-I signaling complex, can induce apoptosis, and weakly activates the NF-κB transcription factor. Caspase-8 prevents RIPK3-dependent necrosis by forming a proteolytically active complex with CFLAR, which is essential for its protective function.
