Target Information
This gene encodes a member of the DNAJ protein family, characterized by a conserved J-domain. DNAJ family proteins act as molecular chaperones involved in protein folding and oligomeric complex assembly. DNAJB6 may play a role in polyglutamine aggregation in specific neurons. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants, not all of which have been fully described.
