Target Information
NUMBL plays a role in neurogenesis. It is required throughout embryonic neurogenesis to maintain neural progenitor cells (radial glial cells), allowing daughter cells to choose progenitor over neuronal fate. It is also required postnatally in the subventricular zone (SVZ) neurogenesis by regulating SVZ neuroblast survival and ependymal wall integrity.
Acts as a negative regulator of NF-kappa-B signaling, preventing MAP3K7IP2 interaction with polyubiquitin chains of TRAF6 and RIPK1, and promoting Lys-48-linked polyubiquitination and degradation of TRAF6 in cortical neurons.
