Target Information
FBXO33 is the substrate recognition component of a SKP1-CUL1-F-box (SCF) E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase complex that mediates ubiquitination and subsequent proteasomal degradation of target proteins.
FBXO33 likely recognizes and binds phosphorylated target proteins such as YBX1.
Members of the F-box protein family, including FBXO33, are characterized by an approximately 40-amino acid F-box motif.
SCF complexes, formed by SKP1, cullin, and F-box proteins, act as protein-ubiquitin ligases. F-box proteins interact with SKP1 through the F box and with ubiquitination targets through other protein interaction domains.
