Target Information
This gene encodes a protein belonging to the DNA mismatch repair mutL/hexB family. The PMS1 protein participates in DNA mismatch repair and forms heterodimers with MLH1, another mismatch repair protein. Mutations in PMS1 are associated with hereditary nonpolyposis colorectal cancer type 3 (HNPCC3), also known as Lynch syndrome.
