이 단백질은 ER 및 Golgi의 생합성과 유지에 필수적이며, 세포분열 후 재조립 과정에도 관여합니다.
VCP와 상호작용하여 막 융합 활성을 가지는 복합체를 형성하며, USO1-GOLGA2 결합 및 BET1L이 필요합니다.
