Product Specific Information
This antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
TLK2 (Tousled-like kinase 2) is a nuclear serine/threonine kinase involved in chromatin assembly regulation. It also participates in intracellular signaling, protein phosphorylation, cell cycle progression, chromatin modification, and DNA damage response.
TLK2 shows maximal activity during the S phase of the cell cycle and is regulated by cell-cycle-dependent phosphorylation. Inhibition of DNA replication results in rapid loss of TLK2 activity, indicating its function is tightly linked to DNA replication. TLK2 is inactivated by phosphorylation at Ser-750, potentially by CHK1, and forms heterodimers with TLK1.
This nuclear protein is widely expressed in fetal placenta, liver, kidney, pancreas, heart, skeletal muscle, and several adult cell lines.
