Target Information
CYP2A6은 cytochrome P450 초과가족에 속하는 효소를 암호화하는 유전자입니다. 이 단백질은 약물 대사 및 콜레스테롤, 스테로이드, 기타 지질 합성에 관여하는 monooxygenase 역할을 합니다. 이 효소는 소포체에 위치하며 phenobarbital에 의해 발현이 유도됩니다. Coumarin을 hydroxylate하며, nicotine, aflatoxin B1, nitrosamines, 일부 약물도 대사합니다. 특정 대립유전자 변이를 가진 개인은 coumarin이나 nicotine을 효율적으로 대사하지 못하는 poor metabolizer phenotype을 가질 수 있습니다. 이 유전자는 염색체 19q에 위치한 CYP2A, CYP2B, CYP2F 하위계열 유전자 클러스터에 속합니다. 과거에는 CYP2A3로 불렸으나 현재는 CYP2A6으로 명명되었습니다.
