Target Information
CD138 (syndecan 1)은 다양한 cytokine 및 extracellular matrix 구성요소와 결합하여 그들의 활성과 발달 과정을 조절하는 transmembrane proteoglycan입니다.
주로 분화 중인 keratinocyte에서 발현되며, 조직 손상 시 epidermis의 모든 층에서 일시적으로 발현이 증가합니다.
또한 plasma cell에서 높은 수준으로 발현되며 fibroblast, vascular smooth muscle cell, endothelial cell에서도 검출될 수 있습니다.
CD138 발현의 상향 및 하향 조절은 종양성 특성과 관련이 있으며, 혈청 내 soluble sCD138의 농도는 암 발생의 예후 인자로 사용됩니다.
