Target Information
Ubiquitin은 세포 내 단백질을 26S proteasome을 통해 분해하도록 표적화하는 데 중요한 역할을 하는 고도로 보존된 단백질입니다. 이 유전자는 N 말단에 ubiquitin, C 말단에 ribosomal protein S27a를 포함하는 융합 단백질을 암호화합니다. 효모에서 발현 시, 단백질은 번역 후 처리되어 자유 ubiquitin 단량체와 ribosomal protein S27a를 생성합니다. Ribosomal protein S27a는 40S 리보솜 소단위의 구성 요소로, C4-type zinc finger 도메인을 포함하며 세포질에 위치합니다. 해당 유전자에서 유래한 pseudogene이 존재하며, ribosomal protein L40과 S30도 각각 ubiquitin 또는 fubi와 융합된 형태로 합성됩니다. 여러 대체 스플라이싱 전사체가 동일 단백질을 암호화하는 것으로 확인되었습니다.
