This antibody detects endogenous levels of total ADAMTS3 protein.
Target Information
The ADAMTS3 gene encodes a member of the ADAMTS (a disintegrin and metalloproteinase with thrombospondin motifs) family. These proteins share several distinct modules, including:
- A propeptide region
- Metalloproteinase domain
- Disintegrin-like domain
- Thrombospondin type 1 (TS) motif
Members differ in the number of C-terminal TS motifs and may have unique C-terminal domains.
The encoded protein functions as the major procollagen II N-propeptidase. Deficiency of this protein may cause dermatosparaxis, a connective tissue disorder.
