Target Information
This gene encodes a member of the MutT family of nucleotide pyrophosphatases, part of the larger NUDIX hydrolase family. The enzyme hydrolyzes Ap4A asymmetrically to yield AMP and ATP, maintaining intracellular Ap4A levels. This gene may function as a tumor suppressor. Alternative splicing has been observed, resulting in three transcript variants encoding the same protein.
