Target Information
Cytokeratin 18 (Keratin 18, KRT18, type I cytoskeletal 18)은 저분자량 산성 케라틴(type A)에 속하며, Cytokeratin 8과 함께 존재합니다. 위장관, 호흡기, 비뇨생식기, 내분비 및 외분비 조직, 그리고 중피세포에서 발현됩니다. 주로 비편평상피(non-squamous epithelia)에서 발견되며, 대부분의 선암종 및 관암종에서 존재하지만 편평세포암에서는 나타나지 않습니다. 간세포암은 Cytokeratin 8과 18만을 발현합니다. Cytokeratin 18 유전자 변이는 원인불명의 간경변과 관련이 있습니다. 두 가지 전사 변형체가 동일한 단백질을 암호화합니다. Cytokeratin 아형 발현 패턴은 다양한 상피성 악성종의 구분에 유용하며, 면역조직화학, 세포병리학 및 유세포 분석에서 진단적 도구로 활용됩니다.
