Target Information
CEACAM7 is a CEA-related cell adhesion molecule 7 belonging to the carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) family. It encodes a glycosyl phosphatidyl inositol (GPI)-linked glycoprotein found on the apical surface of highly differentiated epithelial cells in the adult colon and a small epithelial cell population in pancreatic ducts. CEACAM7 expression is lost upon malignant transformation, including in hyperplastic polyps, early adenomas, and colon adenocarcinomas. Like other CEACAM family members, it has a single N domain with structural homology to immunoglobulin variable domains, followed by one immunoglobulin constant-like A domain.
