Target Information
HIF-2 alpha (Epas1) is a transcription factor involved in the induction of oxygen-regulated genes. It contains a basic-helix-loop-helix domain and regulates vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) expression. HIF-2 alpha plays a role in blood vessel and lung tubular system development. Mutations in this gene are associated with erythrocytosis familial type 4.
