Background
STAT5 단백질은 cytokine 및 성장 인자 자극에 의해 수용체 관련 kinase에 의해 인산화되어, homo- 또는 heterodimer를 형성한 후 핵으로 이동하여 전사 활성화자로 작용합니다. IL2, IL3, IL7, GM-CSF, erythropoietin, thrombopoietin 및 다양한 성장호르몬에 의해 활성화되며, TEL/JAK2 유전자 융합과 관련된 myeloma 및 lymphoma에서 세포 자극 없이도 활성화되어 종양형성에 필수적인 역할을 합니다. 또한, 마우스 STAT5는 BCL2L1/BCL-X(L) 발현을 유도하여 항-apoptotic 기능을 수행하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다. 다양한 splice variant가 존재합니다.
