Target Information
Believed to act as a modulator of nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (nAChR) activity.
- Acts on nAChRs in a subtype- and stoichiometry-dependent manner.
- Modulates specifically α3(3):β4(2) nAChRs by enhancing sensitivity to ACh, decreasing maximal current response, and increasing desensitization rate.
- No effect on α7 homomeric nAChRs.
- Modulates α3(2):α5:β4(2) nAChRs in the context of CHRNA5/α5 variant Asn-398 but not its wild-type sequence.
